TRAVIS SCHNEIDER >>
If you’re hearing is keen and
on high alert, you can almost locate the hiss of an ultra slick, slithering snake, well off into
the distant air; as this division is packed with hoards of sparkling gold machines, looking to wreak havoc on the 2018 MotoPlay- ground Ponca City National. There are a few contenders in this class, but one in particular that many had their eye on;
and he goes by the name of Travis Schneider, hailing from upstate New York. He and Tatum Michales diced it up early on, swapping the reign of the field and runner-up positions, as Schneider threw down the hottest lap of the moto, at a jaw
dropping two minute, forty-three second mark (one that had ev- eryone around the park scratch- ing their heads, in disbelief at how fast this pack was going.) Staying as low as he could throughout the respective mogul sections, Schneider impressed everyone in the crowd, as he blitzed down the straightaways on his way to an exceptional ride and first moto win. For the second coming of these next generation of professionals,
Schneider found himself digging through mid-pack, having his work cut out for him. Schneider would push to fifth after moving around riders such as Jackson Vick and Mason Moore. They would scrape radia-
tor shrouds throughout the course, with Schneider never being afraid
to bang levers with any competitor on the track. He wanted this solid finish so bad, and was truly portraying it. Putting his ride into fifth place by moto’s end, Schneider was in the hunt for a podium finish overall before the score was calculated. With Martin and Willis having slightly better finishes in the last round, it was all Schneider could do to keep his podium spot; and boy did he do it, riding absolutely exceptional throughout the course of the weekend; strong enough for third overall. Schneider may have had one of the longest drives of any competitor on the entry list; but the cold, damp winter of New York just got a little bit brighter with his shiny trophy he got to take home. He knows what to do, and what to work on in order to keep excelling in this fashion. The number 582 was a true standout at this event, and we look forward to seeing him propel forward in the years to come; as he’s on an awe- some trajectory right now. Excellent job Travis!
