The spade within a deck of
cards is a relic that’s held in the highest regard, of numerous circumstances. Resilient, willing to endure, and can capture victory at any point, the spade has withstood the test of time, and made it’s presence largely known in popular culture. Whether by music, art,
or even symbolism painted on
the gear of military, the spade represents a silent strength that’s captivated by all who come across. Enter Steve Rigby, otherwise known in the motorcycle racing
community as, “Mr. Spade.” He, just like many others consumed by this sport, became engulfed by the passion that these two- wheeled machines convey, and turned his obsession of riding into a career. Embodying all aspects of this sport, from the trenches
of mechanical configuring, to
the marketing of a brand behind closed doors, Mr. Spade knows this genre as good as anyone. He’s also an avid competitor, trekking across America on numerous
road courses; withstanding the beating of multiple impacts, Rigby has quite the story to share with
his experiences. Allowing us to pick his brain a tad, we sat down with Steve and listened; while
he discussed his upbringing, background, and the reasoning behind his decisions both on and off the bike as a racer.
So Mr. Rigby, would you mind to tell us a bit about yourself, for those that don’t know you, and how you
got involved with riding and
racing motorcycles?
