Coming off back surgery and the Epstein Barr virus, Tyler Bowers lined up to contend for the 250 East coast title. He started his day off in the Georgia Dome putting his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki in an 8th place quali-
fying spot setting himself up nicely for the night show.
Bowers would kick off the first heat race of the night with a good holeshot coming around the first turn in third place. He put his head down and moved into second trying to chase down race leader Martin Davalos. Bowers would not be able to match the pace of Davalos down the stretch of the race and would settle for a good 2nd place finish and a trip to the main.
Bowers got off to another good start in the main event asserting himself into 4th place after lap one. He quickly set sights on Darryn Durham and the two had a healthy battle for third with Bowers eventually sliding into the position. By the time Bowers got into third the top two of Stewart and Davalos had pulled away leaving a large gap between them and Bowers. After getting into third, Bowers began to fade late in the race and actually began dropping positions at an alarming rate. He would go from 3rd to 8th place where he ended up finishing. It was a disappointing end to he main event but Bowers is still on the mend from all of his off season ailments and will only get stronger as the season goes on.
