450 heat two started with a cramped start, but Cole Seely shot off with race leaders in an epic battle with Marvin Musquin, both riders fighting to catch up to Ken Roczen who had the lead. Musquin couldn’t quite fend off Seely’s attack, and Seely would overtake second place before the third lap. From here Seely refocuses on catching Roczen. Seely makes aggressive moves through the whoops as he begins to set up Roczen for a pass in the final two laps. He stays on Roczen’s wheel and in the final lap Seely brings the crowd to its feet as he battles Roczen. Roc- zen rode the final lap with his head cocked over his shoulder as Seely made one last attempt to snatch the lead away, but Roczen squeaked by with the win.
Seely would be on a fast track to the top five in the main event until bumping bars with Jason Anderson just before the start of the tenth lap – the quick shake up left the crowd roaring and Seely was left to revamp his game plan after being derailed from his charge. After the tan- gled-up lap he would have more trouble with Bogle and Pourcel, being overtaken in the final laps to finish the race in tenth.
