Matt Bisceglia struggled all day in Detroit only managing an 18th fastest qualifying time. He was off his game which was surprising after a 3rd place finish last weekend but he is still feeling the effects of his collarbone surgery several weeks ago. He was hoping the
heat races would bring back out his intensity and snap him out of his qualifying funk.
Bisceglia got out to an average start in his heat race and was just inside the qualifying positions. He got through lap one in 7th place and aimed to get comfortable with the track and maintain his transfer spot. Overall it was a quiet heat race for the Texas rider but he did grab one more spot and head into the main event with a 6th place finish.
The main event last weekend in Toronto began with a Bisceglia holeshot but this week was the complete opposite. He would come around after the first lap in 22nd place. Not the ideal spot to be in by any means but Bisceglia kept his head up and started moving forward. He had nothing to lose and let it all hang out. He may have struggled earlier in the day but he started dicing through the pack. He moved into 15th by the midway point where his charge began to slow. After pass- ing seven riders in the first half, Bisceglia would only pass three in the second half securing a 12th place finish. It was a great ride by Bisceglia but disappointing finish especially after a podium performance last week. He will look to use the break to get back to 100% health.
