PAUL COATES
Paul Coates has had his success in America as an amateur winning himself multiple titles.
However that amateur success has not yet translated to the professional ranks due to
untimely injuries. The young rider has struggled to line up consistently early in his career but he entered this season 100% healthy and ready to breakthrough. His health and fitness may have been ready but he still needed to find a bike to ride for the 250 East coast series. He was able to make a deal with TiLUBE Storm Lake Honda just days before the opener in Atlanta and as a privateer he was able to make it work. Coates lined it up in Atlanta but struggled in the main event and the same could be said for the following round in Daytona. But last weekend Coates finally had the breakout for he had been striving. He managed to take advantage of a wild main event and finish 9th place that is by far a career best. Coates will be looking to carry that momentum into the next race in Detroit and the rest of the season to come.
