of the rest of the field was Drew Adams. Reg- istering 16th on lap one, he simply tucked his visor down, and twisted the right hand for all she had. Each lap meant
a few more positions passed. He would leap- frog multiple riders at a time, working his way up to an incredible second by race end. He knew what he had in store for the main. KJ177 knew what had to be done in order to take this title back home to Texas. He must execute the game plan to the T, knowing that all levels of the memo must be checked in order to succeed. The solid start? He got it, as fourth across the open- ing stripe was some- thing he could work with. Staying fluid through the rollers? You bet, each lap standing on the balls of his feet, and seeming- ly letting the front in float across the soil. Rhythm sections? Not a ques- tion, throwing caution to the wind, and shifting up to huck even the biggest of doubles. After creep- ing up to Fauser’s rear wheel, sitting second,
he knew he couldn’t get complacent. So then, he decided to engage the slingshot, and propel past the number 462.
It would work, and as
he came down the final stretch to the checkered flag, his mind was at ease. He accomplished what he came for, and could call himself the champion.
