Capacities of the Locality Health Management Teams
Output 2.1: (LHMT) in the target localities enhanced

• Training Needs Assessments (TNA) of locality health management teams undertaken by Public Health Institute
(PHI) to inform and guide development of the capacity building and technical assistance (tailored-made) plans to
strengthen decentralized health system. Outcomes of the assessment are being used to update relevant training
curricula (local health system; leadership and management; health disaster; Rapid Response Team).
• 54 Health cadre trained in Rapid Response to health emergencies from States ministries of health and localities in
Sinnar and West Kordofan States.
• 176 local health teams’ members trained on financial management and health financing.
• 40 health leaders from federal and state ministries of health, NHIF and academicians trained for 2 weeks on
Building Resilient Decentralized Health System through a TOT workshop in collaboration with the Royal Tropical
Institute (KIT)-Amsterdam. The course is the 3rd liar building on previous courses with KIT on Analysis of
Disrupted Health System, mainly focusing on how to improve the performance of DHS and further conduction of
trainings on BRHS at localities level. This will provide the LHMTs with the necessary skills and tools to improve
local health system performance
