Why the data collection tools are essential during SIAs?
Introducing new tools for collection of data during the SIA makes it possible to report the real
time monitoring reports that could provide updates on, Vaccine administration, injection safety
practices, vaccine keeping at appropriate temperature and logistics arrangements, beside that the
application provides updates on coverage in each districts and localities.
During the current SIA in Sudan, there were two layers of monitoring which could provide the
program some insights on the coverage and the quality of implementation from each layer of
monitoring:
The Govt deployed monitoring staff in each districts and they used the online
methods of data collection from each districts
WHO Independent monitors: WHO hired the service of Volunteers as
independent monitors for the second phase of the campaign.
