WHO –Technical Support on Measles Follow-up Campaign in Sudan 2019
Utilization of Data Collection
Extensive monitoring and supervision were performed by the WHO Independent
monitors and EPI supervisors. Standard observer’s checklist and household
questionnaire were used. Every monitor visited at least 10 outreach sites and
conducted household monitoring for assessment of coverage of Measles and Polio in 15
households in every visit.
Online monitoring tools were used for real-time reporting for feedback, discussion and
corrective measures, as and when required.
District level monitoring was extensive through deployment of WHO Independent
monitors and EPI supervisors in each district and locality.
Lessons Learnt
1. The Online mobile application was used during the campaign during the current SIA,
it is recommended to use this application for data collection of district and state level
preparedness assessment by using WHO readiness assessment tool would have
enabled the districts to review the progress, identify deficiencies and equip for the
quality campaign against pre-defined indicators.
2. The online monitoring tools should be designed for all the monitoring staff up to
the district level to strengthen the data collection process in the all the program
