There are 23 pump sta�ons for sewage in the state. The pumps are concentrated in urban
areas of Khartoum locality (19), Bahry locality (3) and one in Omdurman locality (not func�on-
ing). There are three main collec�ng final sewers for treatment, one in each locality. There is
no disposal system in each of Ombada, Karary, GebalAwleya and East Nile locali�es. Indoor

sep�c tank is the common disposal method used.

The country program increased number of reported sites from 4 to 5 in 2019. We have limita-
�on of sewage system. Discussion is underway with regional office to think on alterna�ve

process for selec�on of sites from open sewage.
