Page 6 - GM-Don't Bee Angry
P. 6

My cousins went on to explain that the Anger Bees of the orchard were not the regular bees of this area. They had come to this orchard last year from the south. My cousins don’t travel as much as me and I knew that they meant that these bees had come from South or Central America.
I told them that I had heard humans talk about bees coming up from Mexico and that were a little testy. “A little testy!” they shouted. “These bees are angry, angry, angry all of the time. No one dares to go into the orchard.”
No one goes into the orchard? Well you know what that means, Cosmos Crow must go. My cousins tried to talk me out of going. But once they realized that I was definitely going, they told me where the hive was located.
“When you go there, don’t get too close or make too much noise. Try and keep them from seeing you and if they do see you, act like you are not watching them.” This all seemed a little silly but I could tell that my cousins were very serious and were concerned for my safety.
I had no trouble finding the hive, the bees were making so much racket that they never heard or saw me land on a branch just above them. Now I know that bees are not really animals, they are insects. But they usually act more like animals than humans, so it was strange that they were so angry.
