Tower
For many years the Tower served as a royal
prison for the guilty nobility, and many people
died in its walls. Over the centuries, employees
and visitors hear and see a lot of ghosts in
various parts of the castle. Most often they see
two princes - King Edward VII and his younger
brother Richard, Duke of York, walking arm in
arm. They were treacherously killed by order of
their own uncle - Richard III.
Annually, on the anniversary of the execution of
the Countess of Salisbury, beheaded by the order
of Henry VIII, a vision appears. Eyewitnesses
clearly watch the countess ghost and hear her
screams, see the executioner, preparing to do his
job. As soon as the ax descends, everything
disappears.
