                   TUMOANA ) was born in 1929 in Matauri Bay, died on 4 Feb 1972 in 7 Doris
                   St, BeachHaven, Auckland at age 43, and was buried on 7 Feb 1972 in Mangere
                   Cemetery, Row W, Plot 0023. The cause of her death was Congestive heart failure hours,
                   Rheumatic valvular disease. Another name for Apikera was Abbiegail.
                          Rapunga Kupu Akoako: Abbiegail Busby; spent her early life in Pukepoto
                          Kaitaia in a house just behind Te Uri-o-Hina marae. Eventually she moved to  Apikera Puhipi
                          Auckland where she met and married her husband Lowe Chuck on the market
                          gardens in Papatoetoe.
                          Abbie was a keen follower of her Christian Pentecostal faith, but also kept her Ratana faith as well.
                          She held many christian fellowship meetings at her home as well as attending the local Assembly of
                          God church where she often gave musical performances.  She would sometimes sing in the choir for
                          Kingi Ihaka and also at open air rallies for visiting ministries such as Billy Graham. She passed away
                          peacefully in her sleep at home in Beachhaven.
                          Whakamatau a Tinana Kupu Akoako: Died at  7 Doris Street BeachHaven, NorthShore, Auckland.
                          Medical attendant:  K Jack, 26 January 1972.
                      Apikera hononga ki Des Clements [91] [MRIN: 29].  This couple did not marry. Des
                      died Late 1970s in Auckland.

                    + 1680 F     i. Helen Lorraine Busby [25] was born on 24 May 1949 in Auckland.
                      Apikera marena Lowe Chuck Ahoy [3] [MRIN: 498], son of Lowe Chuck
                      [1459] and May Lee [92],  on 24 Dec 1958 in Papatoetoe, Auckland, Officiating
                      William Barlow. Witnesses: R.H. Puhipi and T Herewini. Lowe was born in 1902 in
                      Fenggang, Dongguan, Canton, died on 24 Apr 1965 in Auckland Public Hospital at age
                      63, and was buried on 27 Apr 1965 in Mangere Cemetery, Row W, Plot 0023. The
                      cause of his death was MioCardial Infarction 15 hours.  Another name for Lowe was
                      Lowe Yong Chuck.

                          Rapunga Kupu Akoako: Lowe Chuck Ahoy; came from Fenggang,
                          Dongguan, Canton to Aotearoa. He established himself in the market gardens at
                          Portage Rd Papatoetoe, he gardened with Fong Ping under the trade name Fong
                                                                                             Lowe Yong Chuck
                          and Lowe. Like Lowe, Fong Ping also married a Maori woman, Atarua Tawhai
                          from Waima in the Far North, they had six children.


                          Chinese market gardeners began leasing land in the Mangere area from about 1915 onwards, and
                          purchasing it from 1925. The Chinese growers generally employed Maori workers. By 1954 at least
                          68 out of 125 registered market gardeners in the Onehunga-Mangere area were Chinese, and Chinese
                          owned or leased about 73 per cent of registered market garden acreage. From the 1960s onwards, as
                          urbanisation proceeded, the area in market gardens decreased. Chinese growers started to move to the
                          Huapai, Kumeu, Waimamauku areas et al to garden.

                          Lowe and the family moved to a large market garden in Kumeu which he farmed until he passed away.
                          Lowe was a very good cook in the Cantonese style, he was also very hard working, disciplined, strict
