Hekenukumai hononga ki Ngahiraka Hilda Panoho [2128] [MRIN: 896]. This
couple did not marry. Ngahiraka died on 29 Jan 1996 in Whangarei. The cause of her
death was Cancer.

Ngahiraka Hilda Panoho; was dedicated to working for her people. During
her years working for the Department of Maori Affairs she helped countless
individuals from all walks of life and before that she had been a founding
member of the Maori Womens Welfare League alongside Whina Cooper, Mira
Szaszy and others. In her later years she received a number of honours including
Hilda Panoho
the Queens Service Medal and the NZ Commonwealth Medal which principally
recognised her work for her people.
