                            The overall results suggested that intercropping of soybean with sugarcane does
                     not have any adverse effect on growth, yield and juice quality of sugarcane rather it is
                     economically profitable than sole cane. Among the tested three soybean varieties, Sohag
                     (PB1)  showed  better  performance  in  different  soybean–mungbean  combinations  for
                     higher  economic  return.  Thus,  this  variety  can  be  selected  for  soybean-mungbean
                     sequential intercropping in paired rows transplanted sugarcane for sustainable sugarcane
                     farming and maintaining soil fertility.
