The adoration statue of Senusert III

He was the 5th king of twelfth dynasty. He was son of king Senwsert II. He ruled
Egypt about 38 years. He was interested in securing the southern, eastern, and
western boundaries of Egypt. He carried out at least four major campaigns into
Nubia in his Year 8, 10, 16 and 19. And he reduced the influences of the
governors and the sovereigns. He built his pyramid at Dahshur.

The material: It is made out of black granite.

The discovery: It was discovered by Haward quarter in the right side of the

causeway of the funerary complex of King Nebhepetre  ( Mentuhotep

II).

The description: This statue shows the king in standing adoring attitude,
wearing the royal headdress with the cobra attached to the forehead. He wears
an amulets pending on his chest. He wears a stripped shendit with his name
inscribed in its middle part ( xa kAw ra) ,and it is flanked by two cobras. There
is a dagger is attached to the belt of the kilt. The facial feature reflects all the
features of the realistic artistic school mixed with the idealism. He appears with
large ears, small nose, and he appeared with strict look reflecting his military
personality. The arms rest on his knees, but unfortunately the legs and the
arms are lost and the hands still exist
