The double statue of Amenemhat III

Amenmhat III was one of kings of 12th dynasty, he was son of king senwsert iii.
He ruled for 48 years, the irrigation and agricultural projects reached its peak
during his reign. He built 2 pyramids; one at Dahshur and the other at Hawara.
He built there his great temple called by Herodutes '' the labyrnith''

The material: It is made out of grey granite

The discovery: it was found at tanis

The description: It is double statues for king Amenmhat III in the form of the
Nile god Hapy in the standing position with step leg forward. they holds two
offering tables loaded with plantation, geese, and fish, the table is decorated
with two pendant fish knotted with the lotus flowers, while from the sides
there are two suspended geese linked with hanging lotus flowers. The sculptor
was clever to show the details of the hands and fingers emerged from under
the table.

The king here is represented wearing a sophisticated heavy hair wig with
different layers, and thick royal beard with zigzag motives. They wear knee
length kilt pleated from the side. The artist was carefully carved the details of
