2. Subcommittee on determining the patterns and guidelines for using lowland areas
as water retention areas
The composition of the Subcommittees, totalling 17 members, consists of
Chairman Designated Deputy Secretary-General, the Office of the National
Water Resources
Vice Chairman Designated Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior
Subcommittee Representatives of 11 related agencies, 1 qualified member
Subcommittee and Secretary Director of River Basin Management Division, the Office of the
National Water Resources
Representative of the Department of Local Administration
Director of Legal Affairs, the Office of the National Water Resources
Authorities and Duties
Study, analyze, and determine patterns of use of lowland areas as flood-receiving areas. Consider alternative
configuration guidelines. Determine guidelines for drainage and water storage during the rainy season to solve
the problem of flooding and to be able to store water for use in the dry season.
