Possessive Adjectives
Possessive adjectives indicate the possession or ownership of the noun to a person or a
few people.

Possessive adjectives should not be confused with possessive pronouns – mine,
yours, his, her, its.
Notice that some form of the possessive adjective and possessive pronoun are the
same (his, its). To distinguish between possessive adjective and possessive pronoun,
how they are used in a sentence should be looked at carefully.
Important rule: Possessive adjectives have no singular or plural. They are used with
both singular and plural nouns. (e.g. his shirt, his shirts)
Examples:
1. Joey is forgetful, he left his bat at home. Remember:
possessive adjectives
describe nouns,
2. I need to go to the pet shop to buy canned food for my dogs.

replace nouns
3. The turtle lay its eggs in the sand near the big rock.
4. Their team wins as they have good cooperation together.
