To connect clauses, some words must be left out

Examples:

We ran faster. We did not get caught.

We ran faster and did not get caught

Erin is pretty. She is not very kind

Erin is pretty but not very kind.

James has two cats. James has three dogs

James has two cats and three dogs
Will you play a Nintendo? Or will you play a

Playstation?

WIll you play a Nintendo or Playstation
