Students are also joining online classes organized by teachers on applications such as Cisco Webex,
Zoom or Google Meet. These applications are actually using the technology that professionals call
teleconferencing. Teleconferencing means communicating with a person or a large group of people using
telephone and video connections (Hornby, 2015). Students and teachers have to use this technology to
teach students since they cannot go outside freely during the MCO. The MCO stated that only one
representative of each family is able to go out to buy things. Students are largely up to themselves when it
               comes to learning.

If students cannot understand the lectures themselves,
they can always rely on various media channels. Recently,
several student reporters told Sin Chew Daily the applications
they use to aid their learning. They revised their lessons by
watching educational videos on Youtube. The videos that they
watched included lessons on Bahasa Malaysia, Accounting
Principles and Visual Arts. Students were pleased with the
quality of the videos. Some student reporters even used special
applications to keep them focused on their studies (Khoo, &
                                                     Lee, 2020).

The change in the implementation of the lessons also
meant students will face difficulties in learning online. Most
secondary school students would go on to learn in universities
or private colleges. However, university students are facing problems related to communication,
assessments, which is another way to describe homework and planning schedules. Amirul Nazmi Azrymi,
a student of International Islamic University Malaysia, when interviewed by New Straits Times said it
was very hard to discuss online as topics can change frequently and seems to be less effective as there was
no body language, facial expression and tone (Rafidi, 2020). Some students also have to be responsible to
their families and face poor facilities back at home (Rafidi, 2020).

How can students cope with this new wave of
change in education? Perhaps students should use this
chance to be more disciplined when learning and not shy
to ask for help, whether online or offline. We can learn a
thing or two from this Sin Chew Daily student reporter.
