Activity 1:
Write a dialogue on online learning. Your dialogue should include personal experiences on learning a
subject or an interest online as a student. Since you are also learning modal verbs, why don’t you
incorporate some of the modal verbs that are featured in the table above in the dialogue? You can do this
activity individually, as a pair or as a group.
Activity 2:
Imagine you are a teacher. You are tasked to teach your students modal verbs online. It will be possible
for you to ask your students some questions as the students learn their modal verbs. Record a video based
on the situation given with your friends. If you do not have a video recording device, don’t worry. You
can also write a script. It can also include dialogues too!
Activity 3:
Modal verbs are very common around us. They also appear in popular music too! Search one song that
you think it incorporates modal verbs in it and write down the lyrics on a blank paper of paper. You can
also type down the lyrics on your computer using a word application (Microsoft Word/ Openoffice/
Google Docs/ WPS Office). Present your findings to your teachers, friends, parents or even anyone that
you are close with! You can also even write a review of the song and use modal verbs while writing it.
Activity 4:
Create playing cards that contain modal verbs. Play with your friends using those cards. When the player
selects a card, he or she must utter a sentence that uses modal verbs. The player who creates the most
