Let’s Dance

– Cirque De Silk

Throughout the summer term Dance pupils
had regular workshops in Aerial Dance with
professional company ‘Cirque De Silk’. Lavolta
Dance
and Bazique worked to learn and develop
skills on the silks and hoop in preparation for
performing as part of Arts Week at the end
of term. All Dance pupils had workshops with
Phoebe Hoyle who runs the company and had a
chance to try the fun circus based aerial work.
The performance started with Veleta performing
their own pieces of choreography on campus as
a promenade performance. Bazique & Lavolta
then performed a range of awe-inspiring aerial
skills on silks and hoop. Phoebe & Catherine
from Cirque De Silk then wowed pupils and the
audience with their thrilling aerial performance.
The performance featured a range of dancers
from year 9 to Lower Sixth and was a exciting
end to a fantastic year of Dance at Millfield.
