numbers aren't painting the full picture?” – continuing to show the reported statistics and
demographics of various countries east of the Atlantic.
• On 03/27/2020 the Greeley Tribune published a map from the Weld County Health
19
Department showing approximate locations and numbers of reported infected persons. To
our knowledge, this was a first and we have received no reports of similar from Colorado or
other counties.
• On 03/27/2020 we reviewed research from
20
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2002387 by White House COVID-19 Dr.
Anthony Fauci. In summary, it also clarified media and official misreporting of statistics. The
current US fatality rate of confirmed cases - which also requires an underlying diagnosis of
pneumonia - as of 04/06/2020 reported by Dr. Fauci, is 2%. That is NOT 2% of the
population. The median age of patients is 59 years (NOT the median age of fatalities - that is
higher). Ultimately COVID-19 is more akin to severe seasonal influenza or a pandemic
influenza, and not to the more fatal SARS or MERS.
o By comparison – as of 04/06/2020, 16,000 people have died and 280,000 people have been
hospitalized during this current flu season. And... this is expected to pass last season's
hospitalized and deaths.
o It is not this virus putting the majority of people in the hospital and dying - it is the seasonal flu.
Both are predominantly underlying with compromised health - age, immunodeficiencies,
diabetes, respiratory, and heart issues.
• On 04/06/2020 the following information was extrapolated from reported infections and
deaths. Are the policies working? There are many different factors not addressed here – this
is simple numbers:
- Sweden .07% reported infected (less strict than US policies); and 6.9% infected deaths
- Italy .22% reported infected; and 4.8% infected deaths
- Spain .29% reported infected; and 9.7% infected deaths
- Greece .016% reported infected (stricter than US policies); and 4.6% infected deaths
- USA .11% reported infected; and 2.9% infected deaths
- Colorado .09% reported infected; and 2.9% infected deaths

Specific to Sweden – www.institutmontaigne.org/en/blog/covid-19-still-no-sign-lockdown-sweden
Unlike most countries in the world, Sweden has no lockdown approach to Covid-19. Since
03/24/2020 people can no longer be served at the counter in cafés and restaurants – service is
provided directly at the table and tables are separated by some distance. Ski resorts remain open,
but cable cars are closed. These arrangements may seem minor, as they are not at all in line with
what is happening elsewhere in the world.
[The key is the per capita reported infected (excluding all variables) do show how different measures
work – and do not.]
• On 04/06/2020 the Governor’s experts’ modeling – not the criteria used – were released by
KMGH Channel 2 – http://www.healthdata.org/covid/updates . Of note, is this statement –

“Model assumes social distancing begins March 17 and remains in place indefinitely.” [as
