Founding Father, Statesman, Inventor and First Postmaster

Of all the Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin may perhaps be

the most diverse in his personal history. His personal biography is a
plethora of personal accomplishments for which he is equally as

revered as for his contributions to our Country's independence. Like

many of his contemporary revolutionaries – our Founding Fathers –
he was born in Boston (Massachusetts) and as an extensive traveler,
the world was his home. After Boston, he moved first to New York

(New York), and then to Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), where he made

his home until his death. Early in life, Franklin found the occupation
of printer to be a passion, which fit in perfect for his written works.

Before prominence he published ‘A Dissertation upon Liberty and
Necessity, Pleasure and Pain’, followed by ‘The Nature and Necessity

of a Paper Currency’ and would later purchase the Pennsylvania
Gazette from his employer. He started ‘The Farmers Almanac’, still

published today, and also published ‘A Proposal for Promoting Useful
Knowledge’. Franklin went on to create the first public library, first
