Beers with our Founding Fathers

mortgages for example – will also be snatched like the student loans

program; there is currently political chatter of the government
‘absorbing’ (confiscating) private retirement accounts; they have

done so well with Social Security. For a socialist government, it is
about the economic, freedom and power grab. This ties in nicely to

the existing government regulated program for personal healthcare
expenses – the flexible spending account. These accounts have

spending differences; however the key difference is that the flexible
savings accounts do not accumulate. If, at the end of the year the

funds are not used, any remaining funds are lost forever – why
bother? Eliminate these accounts and modify the health savings

accounts for the same spending categories – a tax free savings is
made that can accumulate to retirement.

The combination of a health savings account, to pay for the 20%
of doctor visits and prescriptions, and towards the deductible of

major medical coverage; and having major medical insurance
coverage, are viable solutions to revitalizing the healthcare system

from the consumer perspective. Consumers and providers need to
seek solutions with insurance companies to address the issues of

insurance companies mandating what treatments are provided and
what fees are paid. It is their investment money at risk; however, it

is the consumers’ premium and health at the advice of a physician.
There is no acceptable reason or purpose in turning over the control

of one of the largest economies – and your freedoms – to any

government or predominantly a private insurance company.
