treatments if the individual is relatively healthy or it
may require quite a bit more effort if the damage is
more long standing or more severe.
The Upside and the Downside
Upside: When as acupuncture treatment is done, the
focus is on the patient's chief complaint(s) -the reason
they sought out treatment in the first place. However,
because all parts of the extracellular matrix are
connected, working on one part of the extracellular
matrix will therapeutically benefit all of it to some
degree. This means that other minor or potential
problems may see improvement also.
Downside: Most health and medical problems begin
in a localized area. Because the extracellular matrix
pervades the whole body, if one part of it is
malfunctioning and left too long without treatment, that
level of malfunctioning can spread to other parts of the
body or the whole matrix system giving rise to other
health problems overtime.
