1.2 Main stakeholder roles

Project sponsor

 Initiates the project and makes all major decisions.

 Appoints the project manager and provides resources for the project.

Project owner

 The person for whom the project is being carried out.

 Interested in the end result being achieved.

Project customer/user

 The person or group whose needs the project should satisfy.

Project team

 Will carry out the work on the project under the leadership of the project
manager.

There can be conflict between project stakeholders which
needs to be managed.
