               5.2  The benefits of a diverse workforce

               One of the goals of diversity is having a workforce that is ‘representative’ of the
               composition of the organisation’s operational environment (the external community).


               Benefits should include:









                  Advantages

                       increased competitive advantage


                       maximisation of the organisation’s HR potential

                       increased creativity and innovation

                  A broader range of skills present within the organisation

                  Better customer relations and service to diverse customers

                  Ability to recruit the best talent from the entire labour pool

                  Improved working relations in an atmosphere of inclusion
