I attach for your attention an email I have just received from Simon Trell, Director of Operations.

We currently have several tenders in place at the moment for school boards and age‐related
travel concessions. If they decide to look closely at our risk management procedures we must be
sure to be able to demonstrate a clear responsibility for risk management within Menta and a
robust process in place.

This is also likely to entail changes to procedures, perhaps even the creation of a separate team.
We will need to be sure that the need for these changes is fully understood by all those affected.

I need to advise him of our views in advance of the next board meeting. Can you look at two
specific areas for me and prepare some notes for our discussion:

Firstly, how Menta could improve its risk management process? Secondly, how might we manage
change with introducing any of the new processes and potentially even a new department?
