TASK 1 – PERFORMANCE MEASURES

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (Sebastian Cohard) has received the following email from the
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) (Paul Whiteford):

Subject: Government audit

Hi Sebastian,

I’ve recently received an email from a local councillor from for Bigtown, where we have our
largest depot, telling me that they intend to undertake an audit of the services for which they pay
us subsidies.

The audit will focus on both the reliability of our services that receive subsidies and the safety
measures we have put in place in relation to those services. I think they’re a little spooked by the
news article about the school bus accident that took place recently so are covering their backs
with regard to safety.

The audit will take place in six months’ time. They haven’t told me the specific measures that
they will use in the audit but I want us to ensure that we have our own measures in place that we
can use to give us confidence that the audit will be successful for us.
