               2.4   Resolving competing stakeholder objectives

                           Where stakeholder needs conflict with one another, Cyert and March
                           suggested four approaches that could be taken to resolving them:

                               satisficing – negotiated agreement

                               sequential attention – focus on each stakeholder’s needs in turn


                               side payments – offer compensation to the stakeholder whose
                                needs are not being met

                               exercise of power – force a decision.
