You have just received the following email from Randal Edwards, Novak’s Director of Finance:

Subject: Bits and bobs arising at last week’s AGM

Over the last couple of days since we held the Novak AGM I have received two interesting emails.
One is from Mary Tang, Novak’s Director of Production, and the other is from Henry Wong, non-
executive director.

I’ll send you a copy of both these emails (see reference materials).

To help me reply to them, I’d like you to prepare some notes for me on the issues that they raise.

First, could you explain in general terms what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a
listed company?

Second, could you explain what IFRS 7 is and, in general terms, what information it requires
companies to disclose? Also, please give me some specific examples of the sort of information
Novak will have to disclose when we prepare this year’s accounts.

Please could you put your thoughts in an email, and send it to me by the end of the day.
