Orientation and Training
To help you become familiar with Citizens’ High School and our way of doing things, we
will provide an orientation and training session within the first few days after you begin
work. Some of the content of the session will depend in large part on the nature of your
responsibilities, while other parts will be applicable to all employees. In addition,
Citizens’ High School may periodically offer additional training or educational programs.
Some programs may be voluntary, while others will be required.
Immigration Law Applicable to All Employees
The Citizens’ High School complies with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of
1986 by employing only U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens who are authorized to work in
the United States. All employees are asked on their first day of work to provide original
documents verifying the right to work in the United States and to sign a verification form
required by federal law (Form I-9). If you cannot verify your right to work in the United
States within three (3) days of hire, Citizens’ High School is required by law to terminate
your employment.
Hours of Work
Citizens’ High School’s hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Faculty members or resource graders off-site are expected to be in the digital
classrooms Monday through Friday and grade all work within five (5) days of
submission. See your immediate supervisor for information pertaining to your specific
job requirements.
Flex Time and Telecommuting
Citizens’ High School recognizes that employees may require certain flexibility within
their work schedule to account for child care, personal reasons, and other needs.
Employees should strive to be available during their accounted work hours and should
plan according to the schedule given to them. Telecommuting is available only with the
approval of the supervisor.
Overtime
Because of the nature of our services, overtime will rarely be required. If this is required,
we will give you as much advanced notice as possible. Exempt employees are generally
not entitled to additional pay for overtime. Based on state laws which vary; employees
who work more than forty (40) hours a week, will be paid one and half times (1 ½) of
their regular hourly wage, for any time worked over forty (40) hours in a week. Overtime
pay must be approved by your manager. Overtime hours that are not approved will not be
compensated.
