Paid Holidays
The following holidays are paid holidays by Citizens’ High School: New Year’s Day,
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and
one floating holiday. If a holiday falls on a weekend the Friday before or the Monday
after will be provided as a paid holiday.
Half Days
Management reserves the right to spontaneously announce half-days like the Wednesday
before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, New Year’s Eve, etc. These will be
announced at least two weeks in advance.
Religious Observances
Federal and state equal opportunity laws generally require employers to accommodate the
religious beliefs of employees, but do not require them to provide paid leave. The
Company respects your religious beliefs, however, and therefore, will provide one day of
paid leave to employees who, for religious reasons, must be away from the office on days
of normal operation. Employees who require additional time off may use their personal
time off. This leave must be requested through your immediate supervisor two weeks
prior to the observed holiday.
Break Time for Nursing Mothers
The Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) allows employees to take reasonable,
unpaid break time to express breast milk as needed for up to one (1) year after the birth of
a child. Citizens’ High School will provide a place for the employee to express breast
milk, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from co-
workers and the public. Employees will not be discharged or in any other manner
discriminated against in exercising their rights under this policy.
