                   discretion of the Speech Pathologist in classrooms.

                   BEST is honored to bring these enhancements to the Boxford Elementary School System
                   and will continue to seek future  funding to  maintain the high quality elementary
                   education we have in our public schools.

                   Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) and School
                   District Accountability System

                   Educational Reform in Massachusetts is now in its twenty-second  year. The revamped
                   School District Accountability System is in its  fourth  year of implementation by the
                   Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The  Boxford School
                   Committee’s goal continues to be to increase the number and percentage of our students
                   achieving at the Advanced and Proficiency  Levels in each grade and  in each subject
                   tested  year over year. The Department of Education has rated each school district and
                   school in terms of its performance and improvement over the past two years. Detailed
                   information about the  new Progress and Performance  Index (PPI),  including our
                   designation as a Level 1 District under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education
                   Act (ESEA) can be found on the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and
