New Matter Intake



        Matter Description
            •  This field will show on the invoice and needs to be descriptive yet brief in order for counsel to know to which
               matter the invoice pertains.
            •  Enter the Matter Description with a case name so counsel will know what matter the invoice identifies with.
            •  For deposition matters only, always put "Deposition" FIRST.
                   o  Example:  Deposition for Smith v. Bentley

        Date of Loss
            •  Do not enter a date of loss.

        Accident Location
            •  Enter a period in this field.

        Description of Loss
            •  Enter a period in this field.

        Scope of Project
            •  Leave blank.

        Practice Group
            •  This field is a dropdown.
            •  Cannot use numeric values in this field.
            •  Once familiar with the terms, type in the first letter of the word and the word will auto fill.

        Tracking Type
            •  Using the dropdown, select Deposition.

        Prior SEA Project No.
            •  Enter the matter number for the original matter.

        Retainer
            •  If a retainer or billed on account was requested, type the amount in the field.
            •  Only include the dollar amount.  Do not include cents.
            •  Ex. "1000"
            •  The number will format correctly as a dollar amount on the Matter Retention template.
            •  Any change to this field after a matter is submitted will alert the Matter Audit Group so the budget can be
               updated on Accounting’s end.
            •  S-E-A requires a retainer for depositions unless a manager has approved otherwise.
