New Matter Intake
















            •  Select Submit at any time to see the fields that still need completed/corrected.
            •  Once all fields are populated, select Submit. The user will be returned to the Dashboard or taken to New
               Business Intake.

        Deposition Matters
            •  If we are billing a party other than our client for a deposition, a new matter must be opened.
            •  The differences from entering a non-deposition matter and deposition matter are highlighted in blue.
            •  Do NOT print a Retention Agreement or Terms & Conditions for a deposition matter.  Opposing counsel has
               not retained us.

        Entering a New Matter for a Deposition

        Matter Number
            •  Matter Number is automatically assigned once the required information has been entered and the form has
               been submitted.

        Matter Status
            •  Pending is the status given to the matter upon submitting the new matter for a conflict search.
            •  Once the matter passes through conflicts and is approved, the status of the matter is Administration Required.
            •  For further information, see the Administration Required Action List Item section of the New Matter Intake
               manual, or Where’s My Matter.

        Office
            •  Defaults to the office of the person who is submitting the form but is an editable field.
            •  If the opening timekeeper is changed to one in a different office, the Office field will need updated.
            •  Office should be the office who received the matter. Once the Matter Number is populated, the office can be
               changed to the office who is working the matter.

        Open Tkpr
            •  Defaults to the person who is submitting the form but is an editable field.
            •  To change the opening timekeeper, type in their last name or the timekeeper’s employee number and press
               Enter.
            •  If there are multiple people with the same last name, select the timekeeper by double clicking the applicable
               row.
            •  This field should not be changed after the initial conflict check.

        Open Date
            •  The day we took the matter in. Be sure to use the correct date, particularly if the matter was taken in over the
               weekend.
