gangsters, by all accounts he was one. He knew how the streets worked; how
in a blink of an eye your boys could become your enemies, the only really
loyalty was the almighty dollar.

 Vance was not going nowhere with either one of them, so when they
returned minutes later, Vance began asking them a bunch of attacking
questions that would help him put together the pieces to the puzzle, while also
making them nervous about wanting to leave with him. It worked, they both
started showing signs of nervousness while standing there talking to Vance.
They both knew that Babu and Vance were like brothers. And they figured if
Vance suspected them in anyway having something to do with Babu being
killed; they could come up on the losing end. It all came down to odds, angles
and street warfare strategy. Vance knew, and they knew, with New Orleans
street gangsters how it worked. They would kill the attended victim first and
then their homeboy or family member if they deemed them a threat as well.
They both began agreeing with Vance and saying he was right; the area was
too hot with police right now and they just needed to cool out. They would
hookup with each other the next day and find out what happen.

  Once they left Vance went back inside and starting thinking about his next
move and his best friend. He thought about their last conversation, Vance was
walking home from work when he ran into Babu, who was coming from his
girlfriend Sheila’s house. She lived in the Iberville Housing Projects. He had a
stupid grin on his face when they met up; Babu told Vance that he had just
found out Shelia was pregnant. Vance began joking with him and telling him
that he could not make any babies, they both started laughing and talking,
Vance told Babu that he was working and back in school and that he was
thinking about leaving New Orleans and going into the Navy. He wanted to
