The man mumbled, “He looked at me.”
“What?” she questioned.
“He looked at me,” he whispered.
The wife was surprised at this answer. How could her
husband be undone by just a look?
She then related her own unusual experience. While siing
in the sun, she began to feel uncomfortably hot. Suddenly, she felt an unusual coolness. A person siing close motioned for her to look up. There, in a cloudless sky, one single cloud hovered over her head, protecting her from the sun’s rays and providing relief. How peculiar!
The next day the couple couldn’t wait to see Baba again. The Australian man sat next to an old, poor Indian man. Thin and weathered, his skin and bones were covered by a dirty cloth. His hair was maed, and he emied an awful odor.
The Australian felt uncomfortable but knew he had to tolerate unusual conditions in a foreign land. Then out came Swami. He immediately walked toward the Australian, who felt stunned by this uncanny aention. However, instead of coming to the Australian, Sai Baba turned to his neighbor, the poor Indian. Leaning over and caressing the man’s head and shoulders, Sai Baba began speaking sweetly and soly to him. The Australian was surprised to find that Sai Baba spoke in English and could be easily understood.
