" We never got together for our career. We were good friends before that, that is what we still are. The splitup was never based on personal reasons or whatsoever. "
So you will be staying with Coldharbour?
Isaac: All options are still open at the moment. I didn’t decide yet what to do. For sure is that I have one track ready now and working on a few other ones aswell. Which is trance. And it is kinda the same style as “Fisherman and Hawkins” always banging, always catchy melodies, so fist in the air you know. Continue to put the fist in the air. All options are still open and more info on that soon. We are still busy with the last show. After tonight lets full focus on the “Fisherman” project.
So you guys will be splitting up. So whats the
thing you are going to miss most about each
other?
Rob: Nothing (huge laughter) No we are splitting up music wise but it doesn’t mean we are splitting up as friends.
Isaac: We never got together for our career. We were good friends before that, that is what we still are. The splitup was never based on personal reasons or whatsoever. It was just time for both do something new. To get inspired again, it felt like to continue with something else.
Rob: It is different if you want to make a living out of it. It was very hard also if you are with two to split everything. We never been able most of the time to do a show together in America of Asia. It is always budget wise, maybe to expensive to travel together. So that is also one of the reasons if you can make a fresh new start now. We have more change to get something out of it.
You had the era of bands splitting up in the eighties and nineties and all coming back now. So what is the date you have set for a reunion?
(laughter)
Rob: Of course we have thought about this already. At leastnow how it is right now. I did to have a reunion. But for now it is just how it is right now. It is the end of Fisherman and Hawkins but a lot of bands in the past said it is the end to something. And you know what they do.
Isaac: Maybe in 3 or 4 years from now we are going to make a new track. You never know. But for now it is just the focus on our solo projects. Never say never.
Any last words for aspiring DJ's and producers wo want to make it in this busines?
Rob: No (huge laughter again) No I mean it is just believe in yourself and make your own tracks. Try to be surrounded by the right people.
Do you think it is better to be a great producer and to have zero marketing skills or have big marketing skills and a less good producer?
Rob: These days everything has to be on point. From social media, your tracks, your management, your bookings agency and that should be all at the same point on a good level. The good people around you if there is one of them missing or lacking what is not good then it going to be a hard time to achieve what you really want. That is my advice make sure everything is on point and do not leave something behind.
