Ibiza Trance Family is becoming one of the biggest music promotion brands on the music scene today. The Brand is growing by the minute with some massive projects due to be announced shortly. The ITF Name is known to everyone in Ibiza for its amazing nights and huge Cream Ibiza events at the Legendary Tropi Ibiza in the heart of the West End. 2014 was another massive year for Dave and the Team, with huge plans already in motion for the 2015 Ibiza Calendar. Ibiza Trance Family is proud to showcase huge DJ talent across the magical island and beyond and bring the nights the music lovers want to see happen. I had the opportunity to return to Ibiza myself in 2014 and play on the Ibiza Trance Family CREAM IBIZA line up for a magical Gig that also featured Cream Resident Rob Harnetty and Irish Female Trance DJ Maria Healy. I had the honour of catching up with Dave Cook again recently who is the owner of Ibiza Trance Family. He told me about some exciting projects and the plans for the 2015 Calendar year. Here are the interview guys.
Massive Ibiza nights and now one of the biggest promotion brands out there. It’s been a crazy few years for you and the team. Please tell us how the Ibiza Trance Family brand came about?
Hey Jerry, Well first let me thank you interviewing us for the magazine. Ibiza Trance Family really just started out with me and a few friends who were out in Ibiza partying. We never planned to take it to the level it’s at now. It was just about having fun and going to trance gigs. Back then I didn't really know many of the DJ's in the scene personally so we made a banner to represent ITF which we took to all the events on the island getting DJ's to sign it and to try and meet our heroes. From this we got noticed very quickly and a huge unexpected following from trance fans began. I became very close friends with Vicky Devine who has been the one person who spurred me on from the start to do something with the brand. After our first summer in Ibiza in 2012 we did our very first gig "The Ibiza reunion".
This was originally just a pre party for GodsKitchen but turned into a full on rave of its own with over 200 people we had met in Ibiza from all over the world turning up at this little pub in Birmingham . The response was so big we decided to take ITF to the next level and so the Ibiza Trance Family brand was born. Since then we have grown into a worldwide respected brand and have massive support from the likes of Sean Tyas, Ferry Tayle, Manuel Le Saux, Maria Healy, Alex Ryan, Bryan Kearney, Stephan Madwave & Woody Van Eyden as well as from the big guys behind the scenes like Dimitiri Di Wit, Rob Murphy, Chris Duncan, Ange Dickinson, Steve
Arnold, Adam Jukes & Manuel Lopez.
For you what’s inspired you since day one, when it comes to the trance scene and all that it has giving us?
My clubbing career started back in 2000 when I used to religiously go to “Peach” at Camden Palace run by legend Graham Gold. This night was a true inspiration to any clubber and lover of Trance music. It had everything and it was all new to me so going to a club that felt like a house party, where everyone was friendly and the music brought you together was just amazing. Meeting people week in week out without even having to make plans to see each other you would just hook up at the club and experience a night of true passion together.
My other inspiration is Paul Van Dyk. People give him a lot of stick for changing styles sometimes, but his passion for the music and entertaining people is second to none. The guy is a genius when it comes to performing.
In 2014 the Ibiza Trance Family brand was awarded for its massive nights in the famous heart of Ibiza ‘The West End’ and of course you hosted the official Cream Ibiza pre parties.
Tell us about some of your own personal highlights from that magical season and of course what it felt like to see your night become one of the most established nights in 2014?
