To be honest I was a little taken aback by even being nominated for an award let alone winning 2 for “Best New Promoter” & “Best Pre Party” by the Ibiza Clubbing Guide.
It made everything real as I never thought about the impact of what we do has on people. For me it's just about having fun and keeping Trance alive but when you’re winning awards, selling merchandise all around the world and have 20'000 people following our group it really does humble you into the fact that we have started something big and people love it, and it gives me a huge amount of happiness knowing that. When you’re wrapped up in it you don't really realize how big it's getting. For instance, I got sent some photos from a gig in America with people wearing ITF t-shirts in the DJ box & I looked at it and thought FucK how has this become so big that people are wearing our shirts to gigs around the world from just me going out raving with a banner back in 2012! Other highlights from last summer is that we're obviously getting to host official Trance pre-parties for “Cream” and having a private sunset party with Manuel Le Saux at ITF headquarters, My biggest highlight was having 2 of my resident DJ's play the Terrace at Space Nightclub in September. A very proud moment.
I suppose now it’s time to get to that big
question. 2014 will go down in the history books as once again magical, but tell us what does 2015 and the future hold for IBIZA TRANCE FAMILY?
Well I can't say too much at the moment as I don't want to stir the Ibiza rumour mill but we are back doing official “Cream” Trance pre parties. Tropi, the “home of Trance” will be stepping things up again this year with many teams up events with brands from around the globe, We are also launching a new sub brand called “Nemesis Ibiza” which is going to be a series of morning parties including beaches, boats, villas & more, we will be working with a mass of local talent and promoters on this new & exciting brand. We are also teaming up with a very exciting new brand, but I can't say any more about that at the moment.
Tell us Dave what DJ’s & Producers have really impressed you lately?
Standerwick & Ferry Tayle have both had a fantastic 12 months and really get me when it comes to productions. Their styles are right up my street. Speaking of which, ITF & Ferry Tayle are working on a track together at present which we hope to have released at the start of summer. It’s going to be BIG!! DJ's to look out for in my eyes
at the moment are Paul Denton, Alex Ryan, Ally Brown & Adam El-Sayed
Dave as always it’s great to catch up with you, 2015 holds some big nights and projects ahead for Ibiza Trance Family. I’ll be seeing you in July and of course we wish you all the best for the 2015 Ibiza season.
