Deep water recordings is the brainchild of underground music producers who share a refreshing and respectful love of underground music ranging from deep groovy tech house through to the dark and forward driving sound of Techno.
Owned and managed by UK based Techno Duo DeeBuGG, Deep Water Recordings has been in the business as a successful digital record label for over 4 years and unofficially for much longer. Our Label’s success is built on the experience of our staff and the quality of our work. Everyone on staff is an accomplished composer/ producer, DJ, or Audio Engineer. We put quality up front on everything we do.
Over 2015 Deep water recordings will be touring the UK as part of the Deep water 4 years of DWR tour, which will take place in, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, London, Rotterdam & Amsterdam (ADE)
Deep water proudly fronts a catalogue of releases and remixes from some of the undergrounds most respected and recognised artists such as, Alex Costa, Gareth Whitehead, DeeBuGG, Phutek, Kydus, Jo Mills, Viktoria Rebekah, Phil Denton, Chloe Fontaine, Adrian S, Ryan Taubman and many more
Deep Water Recordings has had support for previous releases from dance giants such as Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Slam, Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna, Stacey Pullen, Sebastian Groth, Frank Savio and many more.
The result is a heads down, Driving, Forward thinking, twenty-first century Imprint that simply has a love of straight talking Techno and underground music, but with a focus as strong and unflinching as the Deep Water artists themselves. All’s we have to say is simply keep watching Keep listening.
So how did it all start, what attracted you to the Dance music scene, and in particular techno?
Separately we have both been DJing for quite some time, and also friends since child hood, I think it’s fair to say between both of us we have been through the genres, House, Tech house, Electro house, Disco, Deep house, you name it, but Techno is defiantly the genre we are completely hooked on from just watching the likes of Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Carl Cox, Slam.....etc ( we could go on lol ).smash it out to the masses Production and DJ wise it has giving us the inspiration to keep pushing forward to where we want to be and try to create our own sound..
You have gained a huge following over the last few years, why do you think this is?
I think one of the main reasons is the dedication, time and hard work we put into our productions and music, countless hours in the studio has got to produce
something :) Over the past two years things have started to move fast for us, not only on with ourselves as artists, but also the work and effort we put into our label Deep water recordings which has also grown dramatically over the past 4 years it’s been here, so we think it’s safe to say, Hard work in the studio, and pushing the boundaries on every level has to pay off no matter what profession you are working towards.
You have written and produced a great number of tracks, which one stands out the most and why?
Between us I would say we have our fair share of favourite productions to pick from and a lot to choose from over the past 5 years of being on the scene, but Das Sammeln which we released for the 4 years of Deep Water Recordings album meant a lot as we produced it after returning from our first ever gig in the amazing city of Berlin. Berlin gave us so much inspiration, from the clubs and DJ's not to mention the culture, you could say it came out on that track hence why we called it Das Sammeln which in English translates, “gather together or get together ".
Which came first DJing or Producing?
Before we formed the artist duo name DeeBuGG we played at events and parties
under our own names but mostly all the same events as we used to promote our own small underground party in Liverpool. and after that got into the production side, so DJing came first then production, but production only really got serious after we formed DeeBuGG.
Who would you love to work with in the studio?
There are many amazing producers we would love to work with in the studio, as well as some unknown talent, there not even all from the techno scene as we are not one genre minded and musically we love different types of music, just look at lady gaga, people would say you were mad if you said she's banging out the techno and what happened at her gig, she teamed up with Surgeon and performed alongside him and smashed it to her fans. Who knows what the next few months hold but at the minute we are working hard to get these collaborations off the ground.
What drives you?
The driving force behind DeeBuGG has 100% got to be the DJs who inspired us to become and get to where we are at the moment, watching them play to huge crowds and events and festivals, not to mention the good times and memories you take away from it with all your friends. Projecting yourself to where they are is pure motivation and it keeps us going today to be totally honest.
What’s your favourite Digital Audio Workstation and why?
We use a range of digital software and hardware to produce our tracks and we have tried a few DAW'S from Reason and Fruity Loops to the mighty Logic, but Ableton was the one we settled on as it was powerful and set out to our liking and we agreed we both had a good equal understanding of the program.
