HOMEWORK:

✓ Check the homestead exemption in your state (Google
“state” + “homestead” + “NOLO.”

✓ Find UCC forms for your state: It’s probably at your
Secretary of State website. Look for UCC, and then
see if there’s a separate one for judgments, or if it’s
part of the regular UCC, but cited as “involuntary”
lien.

✓ Find the assignment order code for your state. You’ll
have to look carefully to find it. It may be under
“Miscellaneous Remedies” or something else under
“judgments” or the “post judgment” categories in the
codes.
