•Represented Komixx Entertainment in various deals including in its negotiations with Netflix for two highly anticipated sequels to the young adult streaming hit “The Kissing Booth” (the most re-watched Netflix original film in 2018) starring Joey King. Kissing Booth 2 was released in July 2020 and was the number one movie on Netflix in every country where they have the service.
• Represented Cosmic Picture in connection with the financing and production of the popular IMAX documentary film “Superpower Dogs” (sponsored by Mars Petcare) and the expansion of the Superpower Dogs brand into a feature film in development at Paramount, a forthcoming television series and an extensive merchandising line.
• Counsel to Gaumont, the major French studio, on US and European-based motion picture and television productions, including Paul McCartney’s “High in the Clouds” set up at Netflix, its remake of Korean box-office smash, “Train to Busan” set up at Warner Bros. with James Wan and Gary Dauberman, and the series “El Presidente” currently streaming on Amazon.
• Worked with ViacomCBS on its second window SVOD sale of Kevin Costner’s neo-Western hit series “Yellowstone” to Peacock, the new NBCUniversal streaming service. “Yellowstone” follows a Montana ranching family attempting to protect their land from multiple threats and was the #1 scripted series of summer 2020 across cable and broadcast TV in key demographics and was one of the most-watched summer series of all time. Yellowstone was co-produced by client 101 Studios.
• Represented producer Stacy Perskie’s Redrum Films in connection with Stacy’s forthcoming Netflix Original series, “American Jesus,” a multilingual superhero series based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar. Everardo Gout (Marvel’s Luke Cage, Sacred Lies) and Leopoldo Gout (Molly’s Game, Instinct) will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers on the series. Mark Millar’s comic books have served as the inspiration for The Avengers (2012) and were adapted to Fantastic Four (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Logan.
• Represented Nickelodeon Animation Studios in connection with the revival of its iconic animation motion picture franchise, “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” for the big screen. This picture will be Nickelodeon Animation’s first CG theatrical film. The firm represented the studios in negotiating and structuring the Producer Services Agreement with Point Grey Pictures, the production banner of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, as well as the Writer and Director Agreements.
