   Direct Relationship between Properties
   1. When one factor increases, the other factor increases. When one factor decreases, the other factor decreases.
2. This can be shown in a fraction.
       P T
More Y
Less Y
1 Less X
This fraction shows a direct relationship:
When the pressure increases, the temperature increases. When the pressure decreases, the temperature decreases.
Here’s
a direct relationship: The more chocolate I eat, the more pounds I gain.
        More X
2 When there’s ‘More Y,’ there’s ‘More X.’
Find ‘2’. If you trace the ‘2’ across, you’ll hit ‘More Y.’ If you trace the ‘2’ down, you’ll hit ‘More X.’
When there’s ‘Less Y,’ there’s ‘Less X.’
Find ‘1’. ‘1’ hits the ‘Less Y’ and ‘Less X’ point.
