Avogadro’s Hypothesis
AVOGADRO’S HYPOTHESIS: Equal volumes of gases at the same temperature and pressure have equal numbers of molecules.
This means that if we had two different gases at the same volume, temperature, and pressure, they would all have the same number of molecules.
Cylinder A and Cylinder B have the same number of molecules. This is because they have the same pressure, volume, and temperature.
If they tell you that two samples are at STP (standard temperature and pressure), you know that they have the same number of molecules.
