Survival Story
He begins heavily breathing, looking around for
Violet. She is nowhere to be seen, he runs out
and looks around everywhere for her. Then he
spots her. Collecting plants and herbs with Iris.
He pants and sits down.
“Major, are you okay?” She ran towards him leav-
ing the herbs behind.
He continued breathing quickly and looked up at
Violet calming down eventually.
“I’m alright, I just wanted to see you.”
“I’m sorry I worried you, Major. I didn’t mean to.
I’ll make sure to tell you wherever I go before I
leave.” she said, giving him a little smile.
They both walked back to the camp with Iris ac-
companying them.
Weeks and months had already passed. Violet
was still there and so was Gilbert. Iris on the
other hand had given birth to two little baby
bears. Gilbert took care of Iris’s little cubs as if
they were his own. Violet accompanied him with
every task he did. Gilbert had many flashbacks,
which he began to remember. He remembered
he worked for the army. He also remembers Di-
etfried who has his older brother. Memories of
when he was a young child also come through.
But he still cannot remember that woman’s face.
All he knows is that he loved her and he still does.
Surviving in the wild with Violet really helped
Gilbert remember his past life. She has done eve- they had built.
rything in her power to make him remember.
In the past year, there were a lot of natural dis- A storm seemed to be underway. Iris takes her
asters. Tornados, earthquakes, and more. But
both of them learned how to deal with it. Sur-
viving in the wild with very few items was very
difficult for them. They managed to make their
own items soon which was very helpful to live.
Violet protected Gilbert at any cost, even risk-
ing her life. Gilbert learns how much he meant
to her. He’s disappointed in himself because he
cannot remember what relationship he had with
her, and because of that he wasn’t able to show
her his true affection.
“We cannot live in a tent anymore,” Violet said
without showing any expression.
Gilbert nodded looking at her. “What do you
suggest we do then?” he said.
“Shelter. We need a cabin. Just like a house. We
can make it out of wood.” she said.
The two agree and start gathering resources to
build the cabin. Iris and her little cubs are a huge
help to them as they help collect wood and other
resources too.
Weeks of working, stressing out, and almost col-
lapsing, they are finally done with the cabin. As
Gilbert approaches the cabin he gets a flashback.
He sees the same woman in front of his eyes. He
sees her yelling outside of his window. He was
sitting in the seat of an airplane. “Major, don’t go.
I don’t want you to go.” He visions himself wav-
ing at her and saying “I love you.” to her.
“Major? Gilbert ?”
“Is everything okay?” Violet said as she walked
towards him.
“A flashback of an airplane?” His ears twitched
and he scratched his head mumbling to himself.
“It’s not that big of a problem though, let’s go in.”
He said into Violet’s blue eyes.
They both enter the cabin quite proud of what

good luck. Gilbert tells Violet to stay inside as
he goes out of the cabin to get their belongings.
But instead, he gets struck by lightning. Violet
runs towards him, quite panic-stricken. She uses
all her strength to carry him back into the cabin.
In fact, she succeeds in bringing him back in. She
shuts the door and the windows. Gilbert on the
other hand is not opening his eyes. Violet puts
her ear towards his chest and listens to his heart-
beat.
